Alissa Olivier

As a mother of two children, Colton (8) and Kinsley (6), and the parent of a child with special needs, I understand firsthand the challenges families face when navigating the special education system. My personal experiences have fueled my passion for ensuring that every child receives the support, services, and opportunities they need to succeed.

With more than 15 years of experience in special education leadership and advocacy, I currently serve as the Interim Director of Pupil Personnel Services for Watertown Public Schools. Throughout my career, I have worked as a Special Education Supervisor, Coordinator, and Non-Attorney Special Education Advocate, supporting students, families, and educators in creating meaningful educational opportunities for learners with diverse needs.

As an advocate, I have guided families through IEP meetings, evaluations, mediations, and dispute resolution processes while helping parents understand their rights under state and federal special education laws. I believe that parents are essential members of the educational team and that strong partnerships between families and schools lead to the best outcomes for students.

My work is grounded in collaboration, transparency, and a commitment to ensuring all students have access to an inclusive, high-quality education. By combining my professional expertise with my personal experience as a parent, I strive to empower families, support educators, and help students reach their fullest potential.
